Decorating For Fall – Tips And Tricks by Lana / with 0 comments

Fall is the time when Mother Nature is preparing to slow down pace. And so are most of us, looking back nostalgically at the last few warm days of Indian summer. It is that time of year to settle down, get warm and cozy and enjoy some quiet time, contemplating on the past and future, or share lovely moments with your family and friends, reconnect.

Creating a warm and inviting atmosphere is easy and does not require breaking the bank. All you need is your imagination, finding unique pieces that speak to your heart, combining them as one centerpiece, or spreading them around each room of your home, so that the cheerful or soothing mood flows throughout your entire space. Here are a few easy ways to bring fall into our homes. Adding little touches of vibrant yellow, orange and red colors in the form of various décor accents can transform any place:

Wreaths made of maple leaves -  A variety of stores like Home Sense, Marshalls, Bouclair, Home Depot, etc. offer all kinds of interesting arrangements. Pick one for your front door as a welcome sign for visitors and guests. Add additional one(s) in your living and dining rooms. There is a simpler and more natural way to decorating however. And you don’t even have to go to the store for those accents. Mother Nature offers an abundance of items you can use to decorate. A bunch of leaves in various colors, some pine cones or chestnuts and you are almost half-done with your autumn wreath or decorative centerpiece.

A vase with autumn flowers or randomly picked autumn leaves and branches - A nice bouquet of freshly picked autumn flowers brings a whole new vibe to the interior and sets a positive mood.

A little juicy pumpkin on the coffee table or on the fireplace mantle - Pumpkins are now available in most farms and come in different colors and shapes. Just add them to invigorate your interior. And the best thing about pumpkins is that besides from being a decorative accent, you can always throw one or two in the oven and bake a delicious dessert.

Fruits

Fruits and veggies in all their vibrant colors are always a good choice when it comes to decorating: pears and apples, red, yellow and green peppers, just put your imagination to use.

Candles are also a low-cost but effective accent to help create a soothing, relaxing atmosphere. Stores like Home Sense, Marshalls, Ikea, Bouclair and others offer a great variety of colors and scents at reasonable prices.

Pillows and throws in warm, natural soft colors for coziness and comfort. Soft, natural fabrics like cotton or wool will add to the coziness and blissfulness of your favorite spot. Whether it is a nice throw in natural/pastel colors, or a blanket in earthy tones, make sure it blends in with the rest of your interior. Most interior décor stores offer a great variety of colors and fabrics.

Comfort food and drink - warm, freshly baked apple cinnamon strudel and your favorite cup filled with aromatic coffee or tea.

If you have a fireplace – this would be a great gathering or retreat spot to cuddle up with a favourite book or magazine in hand and the sound of crackling firewood. And even if you don’t have a fireplace, you could still be creative and set up a welcoming, cozy spot for yourself or your family: a soft, comfy rocking chair, or a bench by the window with a view of the nature outside. The options are limitless.
